Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) Ordination in Virginia

On June 14, 2014, His Excellency James Conley, Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska, ordained Reverend Zachary Akers and Reverend Daniel Heenan at the church of St. John the Apostle in Leesburg, Virginia.  His Excellency Paul Loverde, Bishop of Arlington was in attendance along with many clergy of the Arlington Diocese and of the FSSP.

The Knights of Columbus provided an honor guard.

Bishop Conley incenses the altar

More than 30 clergy members from the Diocese of Arlington and from the FSSP were in attendance.

This imposition of the hands on the head of Rev. Zachary Akers, constitutes the matter of the sacrament.

The stole is crossed over the right shoulder and crossed over the chest of the Ordinatus.

The Ordinatus is vested with the chasuble.

The bishop anoints the hands of the Ordinatus with the Holy Oil of Catechumens.

Upon exiting the church, Bishop Conley, immediately knelt before each newly ordained priest and received a blessing.
