Fortnight for Freedom | Candelight Vigil at the Capitol hosted by the Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus hosted a candlelight Religious Liberty Vigil at the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, June 22nd.  The peaceful, prayerful demonstration in defense of religious freedom was led by the Knights' Supreme Chaplain, Archbishop William Lori of the Archdiocese of Baltimore and featured Compline (night prayer,) readings and the Rosary.  The demonstration was a promotion of Fortnight for Freedom, an initiative by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.  The Fortnight is "a two-week period of prayer and action, to address many current challenges to religious liberty, including the August 1, 2013 deadline for religious organizations to comply with the HHS mandate, Supreme Court rulings that could attempt to redefine marriage in June, and religious liberty concerns in areas such as immigration and humanitarian services."

  1. Fantastic, Craig! It is wonderful to see these beautiful images from the vigil. It is a great work for truth to get these images out there.
